Central Queensland Institute of TAFE is now offering tuition-free places in:
Career possibilities may include: Child and Family Support Services Coordinator, Children's Services Coordinator, Inclusion Support Facilitator and Service Director.
Career possibilities may include: Authorised Supervisor; Centre Manager; Child Care Group Leader, Director and Child Development Worker.
(Certificate III units which are prerequisites for the Diploma are also part of the fee waiver. Please note that fee waiving does not apply to material and administration costs).
Childcare coordinators and other support staff have been identified as an occupation with a skills shortage and as a result the Federal Government has pledged funding to support and encourage people wanting to gain a qualification in early childhood care.
Funding is available to prospective new workers in the industry as well as existing childcare workers looking to upgrade or obtain additional qualifications. If you are working in the Home Day Care area you might also wish to consider enrolling as well.
CQ TAFE can deliver quality training in a range of study modes including on campus and off campus. Prospective clients can also consider having their existing skills recognised through our skills recognition process.
Family Day Care Training Strategy
What is the Family Day Care Training Strategy?
The family day care (FDC) training strategy has been developed by the Department of Education, Training and Employment to support the government's commitment to ensuring quality outcomes for all Queensland children through a skilled and knowledgeable early childhood education and care (ECEC) workforce.
What will this Strategy achieve?
The FDC training strategy will support family day care educators across Queensland to gain a certificate III qualification in children's services. This will raise the qualification levels for the existing workforce and assist them to meet qualification requirements posed by the national quality framework from 2014.
